Baby Mollys and possibly Neons

I have just had some new arrivals in my tank which I have put into a hatchery. Any tips on how to fee these and generally look after them? How long would they need to stay seperate from the others?

Have only had my tank around 3 weeks so this a lot to handle!

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

congrats

first off, with fry you'll need to keep your water very, very clean, i'd suggest doing at least one extra water change per week. you can feed them flake food that's been crushed into a fine powder, and when they get a bit larger you can feed frozen baby brine shrimp. i would keep them separated until they're big enough to A. not get eaten and B. not get sucked in by the filter intake. personally i don't breed fish but there are lots of breeders on this site that can give you more specific information.

Cheers for the reply - have managed to fish out (sorry about that) 5 young ones and put them in the hatchery as unfortunately the mum (s) gave birth before I had chance to put them in the hatchery. I have noticed other babies in the tank and these seem to be doing just fine on their own. My other fish are all quite peacefull and so might leave them as they are blummin' hard to catch and they seem to be doing really well anyway. I know some of them are dalmation mollys but now think the smaller ones are platys. Will be interesting to watch them develop hopefully.

congrats on the babies!! they are always fun fun to watch grow...but only having the tank a few weeks, this link is probably something you need to read before issues start happening ... http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm ...the tank needs to do a cycle so that your fish dont have trouble and pass away...goodluck!

Thanks! They all seem to be doing really well so far - initially there were a couple of dead ones in the tank but the remaining ones are doing fine so i'm just trying to look after them the best I can. Still not 100% sure what breed they are -definitely have baby molly's and i'm pretty sure the others are Platy's. Did a major water change Sunday and is crystal clear after I used the gravel cleaner!
