caring for otto fry

I've had my planted tank set up for about 1 month. It's kinda sparsly planted and is stocked with 10 otttos, 30 cherry red shrimp, and 5 amano shrimp. Parameters are temp=78; pH=6.9; ammonia=0; nitite=0; nitrate=25ppm. I've been dosing nitrate is why that's so high. I noticed 5-6 baby ottos on the glass today. They're about 1/8" long and are as active as the adults. What can I do to help with their survival to adulthood? There is a little algea on the glass so I'm hoping that will help. Anything else I can do?

Hi and Welcome to Fishlore!!
Your super lucky to have otto fry...You must have a healthy tank. They dont breed in tanks very often, most are wild caught..With the stock you have it will be easy to raise them, nothing to eat them. Just keep the water super clean and make sure theirs plenty for them to eat. Algae is great for them. They love veggies too. Squash, green beans, zucchini, spinach. Just blanch it before putting it in so it sinks. I put mine in at night and take it out in the morning so it doesn't rot in the tank. We'd all love pics!!!. If you have a filter you might want to cover the intake with pantyhose or a sponge so they don't get sucked up into the filter. Congrads.
