Angels don't like hard water, they prefer soft acidic water. Most fish will do fine with a steady pH. i prefer not to use chemicals to keep a certain ph just because I worry about fluctuations. Especially if you are not doing any water testing. But maybe if you're using a ph buffer then you are checking your ph. You don't need to do anything to make the water hard.

They don't need to be fed till they are free swimming. Not when they are still hanging off the leaf or whatever they are on but after they are actually swimming around. They are not eating the babies (but they might) when they put them in their mouth and spit them out. The parents are just trying to keep them all together so they can keep them safe. Are they in with the other fish or in a breeder tank?

yeah i got home just now and seen that all the fry were gone so i can a torch out and found that they are spitting them all in one place as the hatch lol its amazing that they still know how to bring up fry i seem to of had alot of luck as they dn't eat the eggs (they don't remove the white ones though) and they seem to be good parents i'm gonna leave them their and let them raise them.

how long does it take for them to free swim as i'm at work 2moz 7am-5pm and by about 2-3pm thursday their be a day old. can i feed them powered fish flakes till i get them some fry food?

It is fun to watch them take care of the babies. If something is going on they don't like the two parents can easily gather up every single baby in there mouth for about the first two weeks. If there are other fish in the tank you may want to makesure they have some light at night time so they can keep track of the babies.

You can start feeding them at about one week. You can tell if they are eating because you can see the food in there bellies. I feed mine Hikari first bites but you will have much better luck if you hatch baby brine shrimp for them.

They don't need to eat until they are free swimming. They live on their yolk sac until then. They are laying on the bottom? Are they with the parents?

Oh okay sounds like mom and dad got it covered. I don't know about the meds. I would probably wait though, just to be safe.

Sorry to hear that. It's not a good idea to separate Cichlids from their fry and then put them back, they forget VERY fast and just see them as a snack!
