In Breeding

Hi Everyone

I have two baby BN pleco in a small tank from my breeding pair ( I lost the mother last week tragically ). The father will be eventually moved to a 500 litre tank.
What would most people do with offspring? I'd love to keep the other two, but unless they are both male, I don't think it's a good idea (maybe three males in one tank is not good either, AND I am trying to avoid MTS disease!). Unless I try to swap them for a female at the LFS - just not the same having 'raised your own'.
Having said all that, I do read of people keeping some of the offspring. In breeding would cause problems with the quality of the fish, assuming that they are kept together.

You can breed siblings down two generations without any problems. This is frequently done to set certain characteristics the breeder wants to breed for.

Thanks...I didn't know that. Would 3 Bristlenose be too many in a 500 litre tank? I would certainly prefer a minimum of two.

500 litre = 125g I wouldn't think three would be too many They may scuffle a bit but they should be fine.
