I was just wondering if anyone has had luck breeding Cory Cats in their regular tank, rather than moving the eggs to a breeding tank?
We have one 16 gallon tank with 8 baby mollies and 2 mature Cory Cats. For the last two days the Catfish have been chasing eachother around nonstop and spreading eggs all over the walls of the tank. We don't have another tank we can move the eggs to, and I really don't care if the parents eat all the eggs because we really don't have the room for them anyway. I was just curious as to what the chances are of these eggs actually hatching. If the eggs do hatch, is there anything special I might do for the babies to help them survive in the main tank?
And if the conditions in the tank remain ideal, how frequently will the Catfish most likely spawn? Two days ago we did about a 30%
water change, so I'm thinking the lower temperature of the new water is what got the Catfish into the breeding mode! After everything I've been reading on breeding these guys, I'm very surprised that they're mating at all since I only have two, and they seem to do better in larger packs.
