I have a 58 gallon tank with six oscars
what r the right water comnditions to breed oscars?
i have yet to find my breeding pair.
any tips on breeding oscars will do

oscars are monophonic , which means males and females both look alike, and takes approx 15-22 months of age to mature sexually...they will NOT make it that long in a 58 gal tank...even tho its recommended to purchase up to 6 juvies and watch them pair off, (so many sites say it over and over grrrr) they cant live in anything less than 100 gals as juvies...your fish will die before they mature

I second Shawnie. If you plan on breeding, I'd get at least a 75 gal. for two.

80g is more likely but 75g is close enough

I'd reccommend a 125 for 2. 75 is only good enogh for one, in my opinion.
