| Really ok does it matter like the color of the guppies..
Or can it be any type just has to be male and female |

| Yeah guppies are the fastest I'd think
Platies and swordtails as well.
They're livebearers, so they give birth to live fry, and are also AMAZINGLY easy to sex. |

| Any livebearing fish should be easy. With a clean, CYCLED tank, and plently of cover they should breed like mice. |

| I have had guppies before and they did breed so i think im am going to go with guppies but does it matter what type they are or they just have to be male and female |

| I forgot about sword tails! The color won't matter. Some places sell guppies in pairs, but I like to have 3 females for each male to keep the females from being constantly chased by the male. |

| Best ratio for guppies is 1 male to 3 females, just incase you wanted to know.

| Your aquarium info says you dont know about the nitrogen cycle, you could do with learning about this. Heres a link http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm
Also you say your tank has bleeding heart tetras, gold tetras, danios, bala shark, Gold gourami, cory cats and a chinese algae eater.
No matter the amount of each fish you have, your tank is extremely overstocked so i would suggest moving some of the fish immidiatley
Good luck |

| I think i am moving the gold guorami it is way to big and bothers the other fish. |

| welcome to fishlore
in a 10 gallon tank you're very overstocked unfortunately, for that tank you could keep the two corycats and possibly 6 tetras if you're on top of water changes, but the bala shark will get WAY too big as will the chinese algae eater. also when the CAE gets bigger he'll have a tendency to latch onto the slime coats of your other fish. i'd suggest rehoming all of the fish that you have right now except for EITHER the bleeding heart tetras, danios, or gold tetras, and then you can keep the two cories.
to answer your question above the easiest fish to breed are basically listed above, guppies, mollies, platies, endlers, and swordtails. you can also cross breed mollies and guppies OR platies and swordtails but no other combinations. |

| 2 bleeding heart tetras- 4"
3 gold tetras- 6"
3 danios- 6"
2 corys- 4"
1 algae eater- 6"
1 bala shark- 16"
1 gourami- 6"
At adult size these fish would need atleast a 60 Gallon tank.
The rule of thumb is one inch of fish per Gallon of water.
Im afraid you need to find new homes for pretty much all of your fish |

| Hi Bala
Welcome to fishlore
Before you even BEGIN to think about breeding any more fish please tell me your aquarium info is wrong and you do NOT have a Bala shark in a 10gal tank?
Go to this page www.fishlore.com and look at the profile of the Bala shark it needs at least a 55gal tank. http://www.fishlore.com/Profiles-BalaShark.htm
The Golden / 3 Spot Gourami will need at least a 20 gallon tank http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichogaster_trichopterus
your CAE will get large and VERY agressive towards its tank mates and will have to be rehomed within a year probably it also need a 55gal tank to live. http://www.fishlore.com/profile-chinesealgaeeater.htm
How many Tetras, Corys and Danios do you have?
Then please read this guide http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm to understand nitrogen cycle.
Back to your question
To be honest the easiest are probably Mollys for a number of reasons
1) the fry tend to be a lot larger at birth and therefor their chances of survival are higher
2) The number born at any time tends to be lower than with Guppys so you get over-run with fry at a slower pace
but before you start to breed any fish have a plan in place about what you are going to do with the fry unless you plan to have bigger and/or more tanks.
Either that or invest in natural fry control like an Angel fish but NOT in your 10gal tank Last edited by Jonah; March 17th, 2009 at 01:22 PM.

| Ok, you need to get rid of the bala shark ASAP as it will grow huge and none of your tanks can house it
The gourami will also have to go if you cant find the 20G and the chinese algae eater will aswel
Even more fish will have to go unless you set up atleast one of the 5 Gals |

| I am going to be getting atleast a 50 gallon tank soon within a month or 2.

| in that case are you sure its a Golden and not a Honey? Neither will have had the room to grow to full size but the Honey only grows to 2 1/2" and the Golden twice that |

| I got a gold guorami. |

| This could also be because by putting it in a small tank with alot of other fish youve stunted its growth.
Even if you get the 50G i would still say get rid of the bala shark.
And i would also still say get rid of the chinese algae eater as it may attack your fish once it gets older. |
