Need help with Zebra Danio fry

I have 2.5 L tank where I had 3 Zebra danios. I pulled them out last weekend as I found worms in the tank. Long story short, now I have newly hatched fry in that 2.5 L tank. 21 of them or so.

I am very new to aquarium business, got it for my toddler a few moths ago.
I would appreciate any advise on how to take care of our baby fish.

Thanks.

welcome to fishlore and congrats on the babies!!!!!

keeping the tank very clean and feeding them small broke up pieces of flake food until they grow will be fine....also great food for fry is decapulated shrimp eggs which is very reasonable at kensfish.com ..goodluck!

Thanks!

How many times a day do I need to feed them? I feed adults once a day.

Does any one know of a good website that would be helpfull?

fry should eat small amounts 3-4 times a day

after re reading your thread, is that 2.5 gals or litres?

It is a 2.5 Gallons! Should I put them in a bigger tank? Some websites suggest 10-20 G tanks.

phew!! LOL ...if you can, a 10-20 gal would be a great size for growout for them...just make sure the intake and outake on the filters dont hurt them..you can put filter floss around each to protect

I do not have 10-20 G tank now, but I have been thinking of getting one, and after transferring my new fry into it, adding a few inches of water everyday.

Is it what I suppose to do anyway?

I am getting so excited!

Well you should definatly get a bigger tank of atleast 10 gallon if your going to sell them after they're more grown. If not then you should get a 25 gallon. Even though if your going to sell the fish you should get a bigger tank since you can use it for your other fish. Zebra Danios may need more space to swim then a 2.5 gallon because they're very energetic and like to swim around alot.

Just remember to not overfeed the fry. Like Shawnie said, 3-4 times a day but only what they can consume. Water changes are very important for the first month or so. Also, I suggest getting a sponge filter for their current tank or the new one. These fish are very small when newly hatched and will get sucked up into just about any power filter. How big are the fry now?
