Black Molly Daddy to Be!

I have 2 black female mollies and both are pregnant and ready to pop! Daddy to be is freaking out because I placed both into the breader tonight (this will be first time mommies and daddy). He is even ignorning my little ques for petting him and he literally spikes up his dorsal at me.

This might seem stupid, but Im concerned about him stressing way to much but how can I reasure him that all is well, if that is even possible. Does your daddy to be do the samething? I turned out the light to help calm him down..

I wouldnt put the females in the breeder net for starters. Sometimes this can result in aborted pregnancy or they could just eat the babies. I usually just provide lots of hiding spots in my tank and then CAREFULLY net each fry into the breeder net. I have raised a few hundred this way with little losses.

same here, the molly fry tend to lay on stuff, i have a anchor and a castle that they laid on, and the other fish didnt seem to both them, only time they did was when they were swimming around, and they are pretty easy to net cause when u both them they swim to the surface
