Does anybody know how fast Cherry Barbs grow?
I have a 10 gallon tank basically brimming with fry and I'd like to know how soon I need to get my 26 gallon set up and cycled so I can use it for my other fishies and move some of the fry to the 14 gallon...
Right now the babies are basically white dots about the size of 2 periods stuck together and they're only a week old...they were the size of one period when they were born.

Also, there's a wee bit of mold or something growing on the bottom of their tank (it's kinda like a rolled up white porcupine with little waving hair like things) and they seem to be crawling all over it quite happily, eating it maybe? Should I remove it from their tank or leave it in there since they seem happy?

I dont know how fast cherry barbs themselves grow. But I do know if you keep the water nice and warm and clean and feed good quality food brine shrimp and such, fry grow faster.

Thanks, yeah I did a major sand removal today in that tank because I had put sand in it thinking that the parents hadn't bred and then they had...So hopefully it's a lot cleaner in there now since all the water that was coming up with the sand was pretty much brown. Yuck.
And I got rid of the moldy thing, it was really huge and nasty in the sand...
