very little eggs left

I want to thank you for your information on my breeding angels. Last night I had several " bad eggs " in the bunch, but there were a few that looked like they were good ( clear \ milky colored ). Woke up this morning and almost all of them are gone! I have about 20 - 25 good eggs left on the side of the tank. Do they eat the bad ones? I know my other fish didn't eat them because the angels wont let them near them.

Yes they frequently pick at the bad ones until they fall away from the good ones. Sometimes they will eat them. Guess what I have today

What you got Carol ? Babies?? I had to leave for a Hockey game this afternoon and just now got back? And no eggs at all now. Apparently they have eaten them all. Maybe I'll have better luck next time.

A leaf full of eggs Now I have 2 batches of babies about two weeks apart and a leaf full of eggs. I kind of expected it though. It's suppose to rain tonight and angels are very sensitive to barometric pressure and will frequently spawn when a change of weather is expected.

Ahhh yes you do ... i am needing to get a Pleco .. will he be ok with the tank? I am worried that if and when they do lay again .. he might eat them or get chased off like the others.

I wouldn't b/c you have a big bioload already... what about some ottos?
or if you really want a pleco, get 1 bn...

Thanks for the advice AJ, but since i am a newbie to what kinds of fish are co inhabitable. My male angel is very aggressive and I thought otto's were fairly shy and to be kept away from that type. I also thought a pleco would help control the algie better and are pretty much a nocturnal fish that would run the night shift cleaning crew. Ummmm i dont mean to look stupid here .. what is 1 bn ?

I was just thinking that the ottos would have a lesser bioload for the tank than a pleco, which, someone correct me if I'm wrong, are supposedly pretty big waste producers..

And I have a question: Is your male angel always aggressive or just when breeding?

A couple of Otos would do a great job on the algae and would be less likely to eat their eggs. I have some in with angels and they are very fast(the otos) and the angels don't seem to mind them even when spawning but the pleco is another story.

i decided today to just break the tank down and do a very thourough cleaning .. since the eggs were gone and my male is back to normal... not as aggressive ( he still rules the tank ) but he is at least letting the other fish out of the corner. Everything is pretty much back to normal now. Tetra's are playing in the air bubbles and filter flow .. Mollies are all over the place, and my readings are normal also .. nitrate 20 , nitrite 0, Alk 40 and pH 6.8

i needed to get rid of the green. I wasnt sure of getting another fish and it needed it also. I didnt entirely break it down .. just about half the water and gave the gravel and rocks a good cleaning.
