im a newb to breeding i really just wanna try it and see if its a way to broaden my fish breeds. now i am buying ones of the lee's breeding systems grates for when fish lay eggs. Ive read books on breading fish but none have just come right out and said a good fish for breeders to start with. i have heard that zebra danios are easy to breed i need a opinion. and in addition are zebra danios egg layers.

yes, the zebras danios are egg layers, and form what I understand you have platys and a molly, they are live bearing fish. which means the fry are free swimming at birth. mollies, platys, and guppies are very easy to breed. do you want to breed those?
