angelfish eggs

i read the article on this site about breeding angelfish and just had a couple simple questions about it. it states that within 2 days you will know if your pair is fertile, but it never actually says HOW you will know this. is there some way of telling if they are fertile or not? directly after that it states that the eggs may turn white, but it doesnt give any reason or explanation for that. is this the sign of fertility or infertility or maybe that the eggs were never fertilized by the male or is there some other reason that the eggs may turn white? also it says watch for the male to fertilize the eggs. how soon after the eggs are laid does the male fertilize them? directly after they are laid or after a while or the next day? thanks for any info

If the eggs aren't fertile/or the male didn't fertilize them they will turn white in 24 hours.
I have two females that lay eggs every two weeks like clock work even without a male in the tank so obviously they are infertile.
When the female lays rows of eggs the male comes right behind and goes over them fertilizing them.
Just yell if you have questions.

thanks a million, thats exactly what i needed to know. now if i could only figure out how to make sure i have a male and a female. they are the same age and 1 of them is much larger than the other and seems like it has a slightly different shaped head. and i noticed the smaller 1 does develop a bulge at the stomach before the eggs appear. i never actually see the egg laying though so im not sure.

the males will be bigger and will have more of a rounder shaped head down to their mouths/nose..where the female will be more slim and slender down their nose to their mouths..does that make sense? I can show you my pair if you need a comparison...

You could post them here so number1speedfreak can see what male and female look like. Then I can transfer them to the "sexing angelfish" thread.
