egg question

I have a tank with a few zebra's, 3 Julii Corys and 2 oto's and a golden moon/mystery snail. This morning, as I was doing my feeding and tank checks I spotted the snail eating eggs off the glass at the back of the tank.

I know what snail eggs look like and they were not snail eggs. The Danio's spawn regularly and they scatter and I think Cory's are the same. I've never seed the Cory's spawn but have found fry in the past. My question is, do oto's scatter or do they stick, as in on plants or rocks or whatever. I'm hoping I have oto's that have paired and are spawners. Would be great to have that happen but I can't seem to find any info on breeding them.

By the way, I only have two because that's all the pet shop had. Also, I have removed the snail in case any more eggs get laid I don't want it eating them before I have a chance to see if they hatch.

I think corys and otos both lay 'sticky' type eggs on leaves, glass, or other surfaces =)

LOL, funny thing, I've been searching this site and other for info and could not get that basic question answered. I just did another google search after posting the question and found a site that reports a report from another source of breeding and they say stickey.

The next Google link brought me right back here to the fish profiles and that says sticky. I just don't know why I couldn't find the one here with a search here.

Anyway, that now means I don't know if the eggs were the Julii's or the Oto's but since the snail got them I guess I wait for another spawn or hope they spawned elsewhere that I just can't find. The tank is well planted with broad leaf swords and Java so it's very possible they may have also spawned on the leaves and I can't see those.

Who knows. But thanks for the response Clinton.

Some egg layers will gather up and move their eggs periodically. That behavior probably originates with the generations of doing so in the wild finally making it instinctual to move the eggs incase of predators.
