These guys are nearly 2 months old now. We sold the parents and are growing out 8 of these guy to have a new colony. I want to start fresh with fry of most of my new species. I love the acei Tanzania's purple.
I have a thing for purple of any shade fishies lately.

Yup Malawi Mbuna species..one of 4 acei species found in the lake.

I have those! I read they were mouth brooders. Is that true?

Yup all Malawi cichlids are mouth brooders.

that's what I tought. I bet it was great to watch them swim into their parent's mouth

I love them! They remind me some of our Hongis.

Yup but when they are side by side with my hongis you can see a huge difference. I think the adult coloring of the hongi would look awesome with the purple of the acei.
