Over a year ago, one of my two black mollies had 14 fry, all of which survived (I now have 5 black mollies). None of the fish have bred since, although I've noticed a few looking pregnant. One of the frys born a year ago is almost fully grown now and pregnant. I included links to pictures below. I put her in a plastic breeder yesterday, but I'm worried she'll become stressed. How can I tell when she will have the babies?

lol no idea, but that molly is BIG, haha.

Welcome to Fishlore. I'd leave her in the tank, those plastic breeder boxes are pretty stressful to them.

she is in the tank now, but i'm not sure what to do...the fish will eat the babies if they are born.

do you have a quarantine tank, if not see if you can get one set up asap, or maybe even divide the tank

im not trying to be cruel but if you really dont want to breed just leave the fry in their and the fish might eat them or put em in a q tank

Just have lots of hiding spots if you cant be there. I put the male mollie in the box because he seemed the most interested in the females while they were pregnant. I found the fry hiding under the driftwood and rocks in my tank and carefully netted them out. It took some time to get them all and the tank community was pretty freaked out for a while but I safely got all the fry into a breeder box.
