It means no more fish until your tank has completed the nitrogen cycle heres a link http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm also how big is your tank because depending on how big it is you WILL need a filter

She could be pregnant but your info says you dont know about the nitrogen cycle so it could be ammonia or nitrite poisioning...read this thread to give you a better understanding of that

the cycleing of a tank is for all fish...ammonia and nitrites and high nitrates that are part of the cycle, will kill a fish...

ok you can get a test kit at any LFS(local fish store) like petco or petsmart and there not that expensive. you don't have to get a filter but it may mean more water changes and possibly more stress on the fishes side so its up to u but a test kit is pretty much a must
