Labs are holding again... !

My yellow labs are like little rabbits! The girls are already holding again, they were all spawning yesterday. My husband actcually saw the eggs come out of the female, them do their little circle and her pick them back up...it was way cool!

My greyshaki girls are getting the full bellys as well, so I am sure they will be spawining this week..

One thing for sure I am glad my cynatilapia afra bunch is small and they will not be holding for a while. I have 7 of them, so that will be a lot of fry.We mentioned at a fishstore yesterday to one of the employees we were breeding the afras and their eyes got huge, I will have no problem getting rid of the fry.

def a cichlid party!! I love fry! Its so cool to watch them hold the babies, and spit them.... then the growing up, I love to watch how they grow..
Of coarse guppy fry is what got me big into the aquarium hobby, I had a few guppies that had fry, then I raised the fry and that to me was soo cool to watch.
(I really need something to do during the day huh?? If I gave my treadmill that attention, lol)

Does that mean you're putting a new tank on the treadmill?

Thanks!
You know I actually put our 58g we are setting up right in front of the treadmill... so I could watch the fish while I used it. Its finally getting to the end of the cycle (my nitrites are coming down and the ammonia is 0 the first day I checked it the nitrites and ammonia was off the chart)

I can't belive it, another holding lab, and kenyi are getting ready...I think I will have to temp house my lab and kenyi fry that I have right now into my 58g tank once it gets cycled, at least until they grow big enough sell. I wish the greyshaki's would hurry it up, I wanna see new types of cichlid fry! They are so cute! I already have a "swarm" that comes to the glass at feeding time (the fry that are about a quarter inch long)

Its not hard to get them too, just keep your water parameters good, and make sure they have plenty flat rocks and caves. When yours get big enough hopefully they will be like rabbits too!
I was thinking that the only ones that would was the kenyi, but the labs surpirsed me a couple of months ago.

My labs have lots of flat rocks and caves. I am not sure how many males and how many females I have though. How big are your labs?

The little ones are about 2.5 inches that were the first to mate, and the other 2 are about 3 inches for the female and 4 for the male. I didn't mean to have 2 pairs, it was supose to be 3 females and 1 male, but it has still worked out for the best. I am getting a diff gene mix that way.
