Mystery fry solved...

As posted last week, I have some mystery fry. I have 2 fry left of those (from a bunch) and still clueless.

Anyway, yesterday, I decided to take a handful of java moss from my 130 and put it in my newly set-up half-filled 15g. The next morning, I found more of those supposedly mystery fry. So now, I'm pretty sure they are boesmani rainbows. Not sure how they could survive though as they are super tiny. I'm feeding them nutrafin fry food and the Golden Pearl 50-100 microns atm.

Anybody have any tips/hints on raising these fry?

Thanks.

they sound really cute, love to see some pictures!

As for raising, I don't know alot about those kinds of fish...but i am raising some platy fry rite now. i reccomend keeping them in their own seperate tank, unless the tank they are in now is heavily planted so they have many hiding spots. dont want them to get eaten!

Thanks. They are in their own tank (bare bottom) with some moss in it. The tiniest fry I've ever seen so raising them would be a real challenge. I've just read somewhere that infusoria would be best for them.

Okay. Are these freshwater fish? I've never heard of these fish before, and I'd like to learn about them...

Those guys are really pretty, I wish I could get some but my tank is all full . Well if you have extra fry and are willing to ship....I would love to raise them.

The parents are beautiful. I'm not sure of any specific tips for that species. I think what you're doing, with the bare bottom and java moss is good. The tiniest fry that we've had are probably the betta Mahachai fry after they started free swimming. We fed them baby brine shrimp.
