Bali fish seems to be ready to lay eggs.

I have 2 bali's in a 125 gallon tank, thought the big one was the male and little one was the female, well I guess I was wrong. The big one started looking pregnant about a week ago and I just noticed she's hidden herself in the clown loache's cave and kicked them out. I checked on line to get more info. and found that this is a very rare occurance. Any suggestions as to what I should do, if anything. I also have a 14" pleco in the tank.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Looks like she may have damaged one of her gills while in the cave, it's not really meant for her and was probably a tight fit.

welcome to fishlore!

not sure about this one, hope somebody else will help soon.

i see that it says that you do not know about the aquarium nitrogen cycle.

please take the time to read the section found on fishlores homepage about the aquarium nitrogen cycle, as this is the most important part to maintaining a fish tank

good luck!

We did have a lot of problems with the tank when we had live plants but since we switched to fake ones a couple of years ago it has been much easier to keep. I'll take a look the page you recommended, thanks.
