Will My Platy Drop Soon?

My pregnant mickey mouse platy is big! U can see the eyes of the fry! she stays mostly in one spot and does not move much. She is still eating on and off. She is also starting to square out. When will she drop and when should I move her?

Welcome to Fishlore.

She should drop VERY soon. I wouldn't move her now, she's too close to dropping the fry and the stress could be fatal for her and/or the fry. Just give the fry all the hiding spots that you can and fish them out as soon as possible after she drops them.

I'd start setting up tanks for the fry asap. Those platys and gups will be giving you a monthly supply of fry and it's easier to raise them in a seperate tank with no substrate, just a sponge filter, heater, air stone and a few caves/plants.
