Mollies - First births in my tank - Some important questions - helpp
Hello Everyone,
I am pretty beginner in this field.
Today morning, my molly gave birth to 12 babies
Now I need to know -
1) Whether I remove the molly in a new tank. Is it compulsory.
I have read that they eat their young. - Is it true if even if there is good amount of fish food.
2) There is a guppy also.
3) What do I feed that babies.

im also a beginner, but i know the basics.
1) You should remove either the fry, or adult tank inhabitants to a seperate tank, or add floating plants and good shelter for the babies to hide in
2) Your guppy will also, like your mother molly, try to snack on the young, and the older and younger fish should best be separated
3) Baby mollies will take powdered flake food. This can be accomplished by grinding up regular flake food to a very fine powder, or using store-bought baby fish food
**NOTE...
Most, if not all, young fish are born with an egg sac. Wait until the egg sac is completely gone before administering the food.

Welcome to Fishlore.
That's good advice on your fry. I would recommend cyclopeeze flakes or omega one veggie flakes for the fry. They'd also enjoy crushed up frozen peas, thawed & peeled.
If they get their own tank, either a sponge filter or a regular HOB filter with fish net netting secured to the intake tube with a rubber band is needed to keep them from getting sucked into the filter.

Thanks guys.
Thanks for welcoming me as well.
Alright.
What I did is moved the mum and the guppy to another tank. A Bucket the moment will be getting a tank / bowl soon.
Now the babies are all in the tank. But the tanks a bit dirty now. What do you suggest how to clean it with the babies.
What do I feed the babies. Are normal live food like small worms good for them which we feed the fish. I think that's all we get in india near by my place. I am in Mumbai - Airoli, NAvi Mumbai.
Is there any information on their growth. How much time do they take.
When do I add them together with the mum. I read a web that says they should be atleast 1/3 size of the mum.
Thanks for the replies tfa and cobettacouple.
Cobetta - Wow you got so many tanks. Cool. Very cool.

The fry will eat crushed up flakes. The worms will probably be way too large for them to eat at this point.
Gravel vacuum! Clean the tank by vacuuming the bottom with a gravel vac!
Good luck with them!!

Hello,
Thanks all of your for replying.
I have a video I captured with my handycam of the birth. I will soon upload it.
by the way, now the babies are around 8 days old. Doing good.
Questions,
The babies are easily and freely roaming about, I am still giving them flake food powered, what do you think.
Also, some of the babies below their mouths on the stomach they have brown color gills or something which I cannot figure it out. Very reflective. Is it some disease or it's the babies / breed feature.
Thanks everyone. Very supportive.

Hello,
Sorry for the delay. No this video does not contain the brown thing.
Well I think it's the growing feature on their skin might be with age it goes away. The lower area after the mouth till covering the scales / gills is very shinning brown. I wonder what they are.
More videos comming soon.
