Check craigslist in your area for extra cheap supplies. I think platy and guppy fry can go together if they are simular in size and you got a 10 gallon or so. But don't quote me on that. I have about 2 dozen guppy fry now just born last night in a 2.5 gallon hex with a airstone and 25 watt heater on low. I bought 5-6 tiny fish tanks and a bunch of airpumps off craigslist for $15, If my other Guppy drops soon I'll just set up another tank for them since mine are small. I put in plastic plants both floating and gravel held for them and powder up flake food. And of course I used the water from the main tank. Goood Luck

Welcome to Fishlore.

They can go in the same tank, just keep up on the water changes and cleaning so they don't have poor water quality.

You can feed them crushed flakes, crushed pea (frozen, thawed & peeled) or a little bit of crushed boiled egg yolk.

You could see if you can find homes for them or if a local store would buy them.

WELCOME TO FISHLORE!

The fry will be fine together, without the parents, but you do need to start looking for a bigger tank. With in a month they will be big enough for transfer to a bigger tank, and by the time they reach an inch you should try to trade them or sell to the local LFS....

Babies are great, but you have to feed 3 times a day and change about 1/2 of their water every day in a small tank. It is good to have a sponge or net over the filter intake, and be very careful when changing water, cover the end of the syphon tube with netting, don't want to suck those kids down the tube! Good Luck!

were do you live? The Petland in Calgary takes fish for store credit if they arent over full of them at the time. I would leave the guppy fry to fend for themselves from now on and only the really strong will survive. The platy wont have as many fry so if you want to net some of them thats ok but when they get too many let them fend for themselves to. just make sure you put in floating plants and small places they can hide and have a fighting chance and you'll see that some will survive. if you dont have someone to take some or a lfs you can take them to dont try to keep them all because they have them every month until they die.
