I think my Zebra may be preganet....

Or I could be way off the mark. Anyways, I just brought home two Zebra's and one (I'm 99% sure it's female) just sits in the corner, and it's cleared away a majority of the gravel. The other one stays with a majority of the time unless the light is on, or I spook it. It looks sort of chubby. Am I overreacting, or is this how a Zebra Danio gives birth/eggs?

Zebra Danio females drop eggs (they are egg-scatterers) and the males follow behind and essentially spray sperm and even eat some of the eggs.

Zebra danio need to be in groups of 5-6 or more, and should usually be pretty active, almost always moving around the tank when not in their rest mode.

EDIT: Egg-layers and Egg-scatterers are said to be 'gravid' rather than pregnant.

I have never known zebra danio to move gravel.
They usually scatter their eggs over the gravel or in plants.

I'm planning on getting some more Danio's tommorow, I just ran low on cash on my initial trip. So you think they're fine?

My danios have spawned only about 2 weeks ago and im sure they DID IT in front of me.
The male ( slender ) and female ( much bigger belly area ) seemed to back themselves into a depression in the gravel next to a rock and then sought of spun around a few times. They did this a few times and then went back to being normal ( just chasing each other around the tank ).A couple of days later with the aid of a torch and keen eyesight I was able to spot a number of fry against glass but still in the gravel.( I have large gravel ) Look for little black eyes as the body is clear, about 3mm long ,1mm wide.
About a week after hatching they should be free swimmers.
If you want to raise them you will have to remove the parents.
Ive already posted a picture in the FRY GALLERY , it might give you an idea of to look for.
As for moving the gravel around , mines too big , so I have no comment.
