I seperated my lolly girl because I knew she was ready. I put her in the 20 gal. birthing tank and se just sat all day. by evening she was swiming up and down in all 4 corners. when I got up this morning she is skinny again and only one dead baby can be found. I guess I will have to make a larger thicket with my plants. I have 2 more girls ready to pop any day now. I have 6 babies who at 1 month made their first tank change. I found out that 6 - 3/4 babies can be afraid of a 55 gal tank. I went out and bought 4 white cloudes and they are all buddies and swimming fine. I sure hope I can save a few mor babies as I have more orders for babies for friends than fish.

Livebearers mostly need lots of hiding places for fry, even when the pregnant female is seperated from other fish. Floating plants and other things that give small spaces to dart into will help. They'll still need seperated from mama asap.
