| My GBRs just bred I went to turn off the lights in my 37 gallon and I saw some little white things on the filter intake. The intake part is about 2" across and then the tube in the centre. There are about 100 eggs. I just hope the plecos don't eat them. I am so excited. I will have pics asap.

Tom | Hi Tom, great news and good luck with this spawn. Did you go and buy more GBRs? Last I read you were down to one?
I hope your pleco or another fish in the tank doesnt eat those eggs. Any way to move them to another smaller tank? ~ kate |

| Well the eggs are gone. I think either the parents ate them or the stupid plecos ate them(which are finally gone today).

| Sorry to hear that Tom . Maybe when you get serious about breeding the GBRs you will set up a tank just for the pair and let them spawn in there. With other fish in the tank and a pleco, its really hard to see eggs develop to fry and live. ~ kate
ps... when you get your pair to breed i WANT some!!! |

ps... when you get your pair to breed i WANT some!!! | lol I'll try my best to get them to you. I didn't expect them to spawn so it was kind of a shock to me, but now the plexos are gone and I think they shoudl spawn again and again until they get it right.

| I doubt that the GBRS ate the eggs because from what i have read they are good parents |

| im in the same situation as u Tom. mine just bred today, and are in a now divided 55 gallon. they are still very young, but both are very dedicated parents, and i expect to not hav to many problems raising them.
are u going to try to raise them as well? |

| When they breed and raise the young, I plan on selling them when they get large enough.

| thats what i plan on doing. i have frozen baby brine shrimp and hikaris "first bites" for the fry (although i heard the first bites are to big for a week or so)
what are u feeding yours? how long until they reach a big enough size to sell? ill be getting about 2 dollars for each one i sell to my LFS, because they are 7 dollars each here |

| I don't know what I would feed them, maybe BBS. I would sell them when they reach about 1/4-1/2" but I would take them to the local aquarium meetings and auction them off there for just about the same amount as i could get them in the stores.
