african dwarf frog mating, laying eggs

I have this pair in a tank w/ guppies... this is the first time I have seen them mate.. and lay eggs... what should I do to protect the tadpoles? How do I separate everyone ? I know that the guppies will eat them, and I know the frogs will eat the tads too... is there a way to save them all

You could either remove the eggs or remove the fish and frogs. To remove the eggs put a container (jar or bowl or cup etc) down in the tank and gently move the eggs into said container then put that container in the tank you want them to go in, so that the eggs are never out of water.

You could get a clean bucket or tote to put the frogs and guppies while the eggs hatch and tads mature decently. Either way would probably work.

Good luck.

I wish I had caught them w/ my camera it was like a piggyback ride for a couple min, they even floated to the top of the tank like that... it was so COOL! I was in aw about it so much I didn't think to get a pic.. however, from what I have read they do it over and over until there are 100 eggs? so if I catch it again I'll have my dig cam right by the tank! I want my hubby to see it too!
I actually didn't pick them out by male and female.. .honestly I told the lady I wanted 2 frogs... then I started reading about them and the female is remarkedly larger than the male, and the male has one red spot behind each front arm or at least mine does, and I know the sex of each now after the piggyback ride...

The term for the mating "piggy back ride" is amplexis.

Odd the things we remember out of 4 years of college.

I didn't get the eggs on time, I was gathering the stuff to get them out and went in after them and never found them after that.. didn't turn out too good after all... Im sure though that if they mated one time they are a compatible match and will do it again soon enough.... that tank is a fertile enviroment! My guppies are always multiplying! I think I get a female out once a week that is having fry... spawning conditions are perfect!
