Kribensis fans!
The Kribs bedded down! Mr Krib has been feverishly preparing a nest for his lady. Mrs Krib has been fending off the competition, fins out belly curled! We were rewarded with the site of a whole mess or eggs in the nest. There is a lot of activity in that corner of the tank! So fun to watch!

Pictures of the happy couple!
Thanks COBettaCouple! Here are the kribs, about a week ago. This must have been just prior to laying the eggs. I reduced the resolution for easy viewing, hope the quality is okay!

Hey Barbados08! They are rather inexpensive for the great rewards they offer! My LFS just had a brood (adults) for $3.99 a fish, but I've seen them up to 6 or 7. I think when I first bought some 6 years ago, they were about the same price. I got 2 males and 3 females, in hoping some would pair. Watching the females display is awesome. They show off for the male and he makes a pick. They usually pair for life! I have given many away to fish friends.

These are great pics, thanks for posting them. I have a male krib in my community tank and I adore him. I didn't want a pair in there due to the aggression , but perhaps one day I will be able to have a pair in another tank. I hope you will keep us posted!

Yup my pair I had recently were fun to watch. They bred and had tons of babies...buit then my male died suddenly. Odd, he was very young.

That's too bad Allie. The only draw back on Kribs is that they are rather short-lived. They live about 4 years. Maybe they wear themselves out with all that wild activity! I now have two other females courtin' a male!

congratulations! My krib fry are 5 weeks old They are very fun to watch, I've only got about 7 or 8 survivors out of a batch of 50 or so (mom decided a few weeks in that she didn't want kids anymore...) but before she could eat the rest I removed her. Now it's just dad and the kids! when they are a bit bigger I'll probably move them to a new tank and reunite mom and dad... dad hasn't seen another adult krib in probably 3 weeks! I'm gonna make a new post and add pictures of my little ones

The eggs were slowly eaten. I never reported to you all. Not sure why, but it was the 4 spotted female. But, they have nested again! I would like to do a water change, but I don't want to disturb the happy couple! I'll keep you posted.
