Female Guppy

I dont know if this guppy is pregnant or not. I want some fry, but i dont know when she is going to have her babies. She looks like she is going to pop, but i dont know when she is going to be having her babies. There are three male guppies in the tank and she has only been in the tank for four days.

She's pregnant, almost guaranteed. Female guppies can hold sperm for 6 months and continually use it to fertilize themselves. This means they can give birth once a month for 6 months with no contact with males.

Sometimes, guppies will also hold their young if they don't feel comfortable. I had a group of ladies keep theirs for 3 months before dropping. They will eventually, though. Try giving her a few floating plants to hang out in, or a breeder mop.

is she the only female? Guppies need a ratio of 2-3 females per male, especially if you have pregnant females.

would it be possible to find a home for 2 of the males? then you could put a female in and have 2 females + 1 male.

I know he hasn't been on for a while so 'll update u on it. She had 16 fry tuesday night. He called over to my place to ask for help when he found 1 fry in his tank. When I got over there, she had 4 in the breeder cage he had just put her in. There are now 16 healthy fry. None have been lost. Surprisingly, she was quite small when she popped.
