I have about 10 kribensis wigglers :)

so my fish finaly did it, after lots of frustration they've finaly managed there first real spawning and Ive got around 10 baby wrigglers! It may not be a lot, but perhaps this way is better for them since they still are young themselves, I just hope since there is not many fry to watch the survival rate of each will go up. She laid the eggs nov 12th between 530 and 730 and they hatched nov 14th at around 530... exactly 2 days! I was worried the wigglers wouldn't last the night since we had the power flickering on and off a few times in the wind and hail... but I peeked in this morning and everyone seems fine. Right now they still look like they are half in the egg... but then I realized that is their yolk sac. This morning one even swam almost up and outa the pot before spiriling right down to the bottom again! Thanks to everyone who has helped me before, I'm gonna do my best to help my pair raise a perfect little group of fry I still have lots of questions, but for now I'm just trying to relax and enjoy the moment now that they are here... as usual, any advice is much appretiated.

Yay wigglers!

DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING IN THEIR TANK. Keep it as it is....a sudden change may make them turn on each other or the babies. I took the 5 diamond tetra out of my tank and my female kick the poo out of my male. They need no disturbances except the water change.
When I get my pair back in their 30g with the diamond (who are staying this time) I am leaving things be. I want to see if she'll turn of he hubby again.

I deffinately am not touching anything in the tank, everything is perfect... mom comes out a little more now that wigglers are here, she doesnt look so stressed anymore! yay and her and the male are getting along great, no hostility... yet anyways. Kiro is always watching the wriggs from the top. Coresean sucks up the wigglers then spits them out and then they go crazy! swimming every direction until they find the floor again, so cute. They still look like eggs with tails, but the yolks are shrinking. The only fish in the tank are two tiny humminbird tetra, an otto... and thats it. How long before mom will bring them outa the cave? I can't wait for them to look like dwarf puffers hehe

Congrats on the wrigglers. I wish my kribs would breed, but this isn't about mine, it is about your fry.

It was like just over a week when when she brought them out. Like 9 days I believe.

okay so day 3... I can't find the wigglers this morning mom is hanging out near a new tiny broken bit of flowerpot in the back sometimes pecking at the ground, so I'm wondering. Did she move them? The only problem is I can't see very well where the new spot is, but I know it's pebbles and gravel... won't the fry get stuck or squished? there last nest was sand only. I'm a little worried but I can't see so not much I can do. I'll just have to see if she hangs out in there a lot more then often I guess. The yolks were almost gone last night, so I hope they'll start swimming soon. That way perhaps they can swim themselves out of any cracks mom mighta spit them in. hoping, wishing, praying their okay...

If the babies are still in the tank Mom & Dad know what to do on their own...they won't let anyone hurt the babies especially Mom.
