Guppy fry tank

Hey guys, so I was thinking of buying around a 5 gallon tank for my soon to arrive guppy fry. I found some starter kits that come with everything for the tank. Most of them don't include a heater though. I was wondering if a heater was necessary for raising guppy fry in their own tank. Will they be able to survive?

yes, guppy fry need a heater. but instead of getting a new tank try to get a breeding net, they usually hook right on the side of the tank ( I keep mine on the side of the tank next to the heater) I think it's better then just getting a new tank. plus it's inexpensive.

a breeder net can work as a temporary solution, but the fry find it easier to eat their powdered food in a tank of their own. the adults in the tank have a tendancy to go at the net to get food. in a short time the fry will need a tank to grow out in.

you can get a net to seperate the tank it 1/2 also so that the babys have a bigger place to swim and grow and when they get to big then put them in the other part of the tank with the bigger fish

If the temperature of the room is still warm, than you should be okay without a filter.

in her sig. it says she already has a 5 gal. that is cycling

a good heater for that size tank would be the visitherm stealth 25w or 50w...i have a 50w on each of my 5 gal. betta tanks, and they stay at a constant 80 deg.
