At the fish auction that we went to a few weeks ago, we won a bag with Red Fancy Guppies in it that was 3 pregnant females, 4 males (1 is a snakeskin) and 11 fry from 3 different batches.

Well, wed. night we got our first batch of new fry between 6 & 8 pm. I went to feed our fish when we got home and as soon as i dropped the food in the gups tank, a bunch of fry appeared from the various hiding spots i'd setup in the tank (mostly from the floating grass/plant decor things we'd gotten for the fry). I took out about 2 dozen then and 1 today that got dropped either yesterday or today. They look very healthy and obviously have had a good appetite since almost right after being dropped.

I have not been real impressed with the red's I have seen regionally.

The 4 adult males that we have are in the attached pics. we're only planning to keep 1 of the males. 4 of the fry are pretty good sized and much bigger than the other 7 fry that came with the adults.

they might have different colors from the adults
we have 6 baby guppies from a blue females and a red male
the male fry were yellow and red with blue spots and one was a yellow and blue veil tail
the females areblue and one has a light red setting in
let me know what colors they become

these should all be red with a chance of snakeskin. the adults are all fancy reds.

ive got a green snake skin guppy
hes doin really well
im tryin to get him to breed with my younger guppies but no such luck

Dave....what cute babies, and the adults are wonderful!! I haven't seen red ones...there are many yellow; black; blue and orangey here...so cute!!!

my grandpas got over seventy five fry from one mother that have reached adulthood
weve actually gotten one batch of fry from a pair already
about 3 days old

with 3 pregnant females and an average drop of 25-30, we expect around 80 per month.

i love guppies, they are so cute. I have 1 male and 2 famales. the male is blue and green. and the females are red and yellow.

one of my guppies are pregnant and I can't wait until she has her first batch. I'll post pics when she gives birth.

cool.. if you can, get some of the "guppy grass" that floats at the top (real or fake) as i've found our guppy fry mostly swim into that for safety until we can rescue them from the adults. be ready with powdered food and maybe a baby brine shrimp hatchery to feed them every 4x a day.. hikari first bites or better yet, omega one veggie flakes & nutrafin livebearer flakes put into a baggie and crushed into powder are good for feeding them.. boiled egg yolks crushed into powder is good too, but real messy. we lost 2 fry, 1 due to my mistake, but have 62 in 3 tanks now.
