no, i've not tried it, but we have put just born platy fry in the same tank with platy fry of 1 month old and platy fry of 2 months old with none being eaten.

the best thing to do is to ask yourself "are the babies small enough to fit into the mouths of the older babies?" If so, it wouldn't be good to put them together and I would say to put them in seperate fry tanks.

Yeah, I do it all the time, although not platy-molly, but newborn mollies with 1- and 2- month old mollies, no problem. Like Dave says, if it doesn't fit in their mouths, you should be OK.

Hi Anu

Why don't you drop a couple in and see what happens. If you see that the chase really is long-lasting, then it can really stress out the smaller fish, and that's a recipe for disease.

How badly are they being chased? For me, the 'chase phase' never lasts long after the introduction of the younger fish. We're talking the first few minutes.

I answered your food question on your other thread. You did the right thing, btw, posting a new thread for the food question. That way, you get more focused answers, and the question gets more attention.

The way that I'd setup that fry tank is to have nothing on the bottom and to put in as many decorations as you can for hiding spots (like caves). Then you can clean the bottom easier and give the fry places to hide so they won't be constantly chased.

Yeah, I'd heard of fry exploring the layers of gravel and not finding their way out. Never happened to me, but I must say I've heard about that.
