at Last, the angels are learning parenting skills!

Finally, after 6 batches of eggs, one of my pairs has decided that it's time to bring the fry on, not eat them!

It's facinating and funny to watch them. They are hovering by the glass where they laid the eggs, (the tile wasn't good enough this time around), and watching for the wrigglers to fall off. Then they catch them, and blow them back on the glass! I wonder how they will cope when they start free-swimming!

They let me remove around half of the batch as normal, and then continued to look after the remaining half. I have seen around 50 wrigglers that they are tending, so I'm hopeful that this time they will get it right!

Lol,

Good luck on that. (That is very funny to picture them blowing the babies back onto the glass)

Tim- what they will do for awhile is chase any adventurous fry down, catch them and blow them back into the little cloud of fry hovering together much as they are doing the wigglers. It is really hilarious to watch, you will swear they are scolding them for wandering off.

Thanks for that insight, I'll watch out for it! It's good that they are finally starting to tend their own, it was becoming quite a chore to continually harvest, hatch and raise the eggs from three pairs, all laying within days of each other! All i need now is for the other two to follow suit and then I can put my magnifying glass and pippet away!

This is a not very good vid of the angels parenting their fry. Mom is the black marble.
