how do you tell when a black molly is about to bear? i know the whole black dots thingy....but shes black..... also, i dont know how long shes been prego since she was that way when we bought her.....

28-32 normal gestation period for any fish in the Poecilia genus. (Mollies are in that genus) So no more than 28-32 days minus how long you've had them, if they are not too stressed out or in bad conditions.

ok well thanks for the advice....heres my news.... went to walmart, bought a quick breeding net, fixed it up with a thin layer of rocks and i flower plant (figured it would help not stress her out, and put her in there. figured it would be a few days....at least....came hoe from picking my daughter up from her grandmothers and i see one mommy molly with a very large brood....lol i counted at least 30 babies.... and mommy got her figure back .....lol i dont know if i had good timing or if putting her in the net helped ease her so she decided it was safe....but this is my first set of fry....so im kinda clueless now.... help....lol (what do i feed tham and what should i do now.... they have a thin layer of rocks and 1 plant in with them..... mommy has been taken out since she looked as though most (if not all) of her babies have been born.....
