Danio's starting to drop

The male fish are circling around one of the pregnant fish that has just begun to spawn eggs since I turned light off, i know the males need to be there with her but I removing them to another tank temporarily since their eating the eggs as soon as they drop. Any other suggestions?

Re: Danio's starting to drop

Any chance you could either put something in the tank for the eggs to drop through/into (breeding grass or other hiding places would be good), so that the danios can't get to them, or to put the fish into breeder boxes (to allow the same thing?)
That's all I can think of.

Re: Danio's starting to drop

There's an idea.
I understand what you're saying about the breeder boxes. I would hate the things except for they are necessary in some cases. Because we have limited the amount of space the eggs/fry can move about in, we need to supply some other way for them to survive, but your marbles idea is better.

BTW, I love your avatar.

yea, marbles are real helpful and if you have to use a breeder box, one of the net ones is better than the hard plastic ones.
