Lazy and laid back!

I have a few birthing fish, as you all know, but the latest two have got to be the most laid back ever!

They have been expecting for weeks now, so into the breeder they went ready for the imminent arrival of little ones.

I put them both together, since I have found that they are calmer and more content that way.

So, both are due around the same time, and I wait..... and wait....... and wait...... and wait.....

I get up 4 days ago and find two fry! Just two little fellas swimming around. I fish them out using a glass and put them into one of the other breeders for safe-keeping. So I watch..... for hours, waiting for some more to appear! Nothing happens, and no more come out. I get fed up of watching and get on with some work. Four hours later I think, there's got to be more by now, but nope, not a one!

Night arrives, the babies don't. Lights out, and another night's sleep. Next morning, there's three more. Out they come to join the others, that afternoon, another four, that evening, another one.

Next day, yesterday, I get up to find another two, four hours later another four, four hours later, one more.

Today, they are still at it, with two more arrivals this morning. They have been giving birth for four days now, and I don't think they have finished yet! Is this laid back or what?

I know it's their first batch, but I've not had such a slow birthing as this one ever! Both females are still looking heavy, so I'm sure that neither of them have finished yet, and with so few fry, there must be more to come.

Both fish are circling in the breeder, close to the surface, quite happy and relaxed, so there isn't anything wrong with them, they are just taking their time I guess.
