Re: What do Glofish Zebra Danios Eggs look like?
Unless your tank is INSANELY overplanted you will probably never be able to grow out any danio fry of any kind, as long as they are kept with adult danio. Furthermore, if you feel the urge to breed danio, here is how I did that recently: I used a 10g tank, but you could transfere the idea to any sort of size. I planted the tank heavily with several plants in the substrait as well as a huge amount of guppy grass, lowered the waterlevel to about a third of the tank (after substrait is taken into account), left the danio adults in for about a week, but can be done in as short as 2 or 3 days, before pulling them. Then a few days later noticed fry.
But the adults will almost always eat any fry small enough to fit in their mouth. Just a termanology thing, but female danio are heavy with eggs not pregnant.
NOTE: One reason for heavy planting is to keep fish not currently breeding from following the female, as she swims around dropping eggs, and eatting them before they reach bottom.
