breeding rainbows

I have 4 rainbowfish. They are all bought from the local fish store, so are not the most colorful kind. I think they are of the splendid rainbowfish family. I think they might be the checkered splendid rainbowfish. Unfortunately all the rainbowfish that they had were young and so i had to guess on their sex. Now, after 2 years i can tell that there are 3 males, and 1 female. I tried to condition her using freeze dried brine shrimp and after three weeks ske was ready. They spawned early in the morning {about 6:30} . I did not turn any lights on, i think they spawned because of the rising sun. I need help on feeding them. How do you make infusoria? They will hatch in 2 days. Need help ASAP. They need to be fed immediately after hatching.

Re: breeding rainbows

http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Live...0Infusoria.htm -- i found this article on growing your own infusoria. Unfortunately, it sounds like a process that takes much more than 2 days unless you can get a starter culture locally.

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...27&N=2004+6095 - rotifers sound like a food source for aquatic life needing infusoria and if you can find this locally that would be best. You could order it (they do frozen overnight), but you'd have to check on the arrival date with the weekend here.

You might also try http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...86&N=2004+6095. I'm pretty sure Petsmart carries it.
