what item do u use when a fish is pregnet and/or is ready to give birth

I use a breeding net to hold the babies, but let them be born in the tank. But then, my fish don't seem to eat their fry. I have Mollys. Your experience may vary.

unless the species required differently, we'd setup a tank for the fry (bare bottom and sponge filter or 2 with a few plants and hiding decor (caves/logs,etc)) and put the momma in there until the babies are out. then she goes back in the main tank and the fry get raised in their tank starting out with hikari first bites and/or crushed flakes powder and liquid vitamins daily.
