10 gallon divider (i.e. I want 2 5 gallon breeder tanks)

Ok, so I'm going to get my booty kicked, most likely by my girlfriend, but I'm buying 1 more tank. She and I had agreed to 2 5 gallon tanks for raising guppies, and our current 10 gallon tank for ghost shrimp and the male guppies/feeder ones for the Oscar.

However, a coworker is selling me one 10 gallon tank, stand, filter, etc. for $30. Not a bad deal, considering 5 gallon tanks, plus the covers would run me, at least, $30 and that doesn't include a stand, which I really don't need, to be honest. So, I am saving money ultimately. But, we'll see how much she screams. LOL

So....in that vain...I'm going to need to divide a 10 gallon tank in half. Half will be used for females and the other half as a fry tank.

I'm sure I can scare up some sort of divider, but I'm not sure what I should looking for. I'm planning two DIY sponge filters, so that's taken care of.

Anyone got any ideas on a divider? I'm thinking that it wouldn't be bad to have flow-through, but I'm not sure it's necessary.

Thoughts and Opinions would appreciated.

I wouldn't see a problem having a flow through divider or not. My thoughts would be go with which ever is easier for you because I see no problems either way unless you plan on having one heater, if so then you need a mesh one but I would get two 25w heaters for both sides anyways. If you make it plexi-glass or glass or something like that it might be easier to clean though, just simply wipe it off that's all I can think off.

You can actually buy them very cheaply(dividers) and add mess so the fry can't get through. The two 25watt heaters is also a great idea.
