corys aren't brackish, apparently they don't take well to salt.

Corys are catfish. Catfish are scalelss and don't tolerate salt well.

barbs and swordtails don't need salt either. Why do you have the salt exactly?

I'd be interested in the research that LED you to that conclusion.

in your other thread, mathas gave you info about NOT putting your cories in the salt...so a huge water change is probably going to be best

just keep doing waterchanges. it will take more than you think to get all the salt out.

on a side note, could you please write out the words when you're talking? Some of that stuff is hard to understand.

I would. It's very tempting to believe they're experts because it's what they get paid to do, but unfortunately, some of pet store employees are just misinformed and spread incorrect information thinking they're helping, and others are pure salesmen/women... they will say anything to make a sale. The hard part is weeding out the good from the bad.

I did run across this post a few days ago, which seems to contradict the commonly held (by myself as well!) belief that corys don't do well with salt. I've seen a ton of articles/posts saying that corys don't tolerate salt, and this is the first I've seen that suggests that's a myth, but two of the people saying it can be OK in small doses are moderators on one of the most reliable catfish resources available. So maybe things will be just fine

i would say that cory cats can tolerate salt in moderation (ours did temporarily), and when needed it can be helpful, but is harmful long term.
