long story short--i got a dragon fish from LPS then to dicover he's suppose to be in brackish water--well he's in a tank with gouramis and clown loaches. He was in fresh water at the LPS but now he looks really bad. I dont have another tank to put him in.Can he be moved to a large bucket for now and wut kind of salt do i use--someone told me i could use morton sea salt--thats not right is it ? He's going to die if I dont do something quick !! PLEASE HELP!!

I would be taking him right back to that LFS. I don't know how to help with this fish but I am sure somebody else will be along shortly that can help. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks! Actually I got him from walmart!! I know ! I know ! Thought I would rescue the cool dude until I found out he likes brackish water! I think its too late for him! His gills are red and inflamed and he's doing the death dance !! Poor guy ! How can they put brackish fish in FW and sell them like that ? I feel so bad for him. I read that they can be in freshwater but it's far better in bw. Thought I would have some time before I can move him.

Check your ammonia levels. These fish are exceedingly sensitive to ammonia, and that's more what those behaviors you're describing seem to indicate. I highly suggest a water change if your params. aren't right. If there's ammonia in the water (fw or bw) he's gonna have problems.
