Can guppies and Endlers Livebearers be acclimated to a brackish tank?

this article says that they can be put in brackish water (the guppies at least, i would assume that the endlers could as well) but i dont have anything else to verify or disprove that

Guppies can, indeed, survive in brackish. The parent breed came from estuaries. They tend to stay more in the fresh water, but will range into brackish as well. One Japanese scientist has successfully kept guppies in full saltwater and beyond (this is not a suggestion to try to keep guppies in your marine tank).

I have spent many hours nowe reading about Endlers ever since I found a Guppy / Endler hybrid in my LFS.

They indeed do originate in Brackish water and in one of the 2 sites they are still found the water is not only brackish but contaminated by run off water from a rubbish tip on the shores of the lake they are in! Now I would not recommend trying to recreate those exact conditions.

The mere mention of Endlers will have Butterfly read this post however and I am sure she will respond with the links she gave me earlier on Endlers

I would post them for you but lost them when I had to replace my HDD in the laptop a few days ago.

I do have a soft spot for Endlers because of the fight they have had to survive. I had my Endlers in a totally freshwater set up and they were gorgeous. I wonder how they would look in water like they orginated from.
