New Bumblebee Goby!!!!

i suppose i could have written this a while ago but alas i did not.. i am a proud owner of a bumblebee goby!

i was at the pet store picking up some feeders for the snakes and a couple of zebra danios for my then lonely zebra when i came across the very last tank in the building where no one appeared to ever look and i noticed a cute like bumblebee goby and a tiny fish (we now know its a one-lined pencil fish). i had asked if the goby was for sale and the associate said yes and it was the only surviving one out of a bunch of 40 of them. i took my chances and bought the little booger and was given his tankmate for free because he didnt know what it was.

i slowly made my newest tank, an almost completely brackish water tank and added him in. it was a long hour and a half but well worth it. as i was floating his bag and adding tank water to it the male betta that was already living in the tank, Little Man, came right over to make new friends.

from that day, everyone gets along with no aggression and are very happy little fishies! the ghost shrimp get along with the new members of the family as well.

the first pic is of Little Man saying hi to Lil' Buzz Buzz when he was still floating in his baggie. and the second is of Tiny, the one-lined pencil fish, that was the goby's tankmate.

Such a cute little fella! Just curious, did I understand you to say your Betta is in a brackish tank or was the little Bumblebee just floating in his tank?

all my fish live in near brackish waters... thats just how ive always had them. back when i started the hobby i was told (of course i knew nothing at that point) that all "tropical" fish need salt.. soooo i always had salt and never changed. not completely brackish yet not freshwater..my fish really seem the thrive with these conditions. my bettas live amazingly long

there are two types of bumblebee gobies.. one that can adapt to more freshwater conditions, and another that has to have brackish.. mine is flexible with conditions and loves that he is the only bumble in the tank.. although he is always on watch for another buzz
