Can yabbies (crawdads/crayfish) live in a community tank. the tank has guppies, cory cats, kuhlie and clown loaches, mollies, platy's, angels, a small tandanus catfish, a rainbow shark, a small bristle nose pleco and a chinese algae eater.

i heard yabbies will eat the other fish and i've heard they get along fine.

Also, how big can yabbies get and what do they eat?

thanks

oh and can yabbies live with axolotls? soz forgot to ask.

No, they need to be in a tank by themselves. They will eat any fish that gets close enough to them. They eat live food, and will scavenge the bottom for other food.

I wouldn't put a crayfish with an axolotl. Axies are coldwater fish, crayfish aren't, axies need very slow water movement, whereas a crayfish would be much better off with a strong filter. Plus, I would guess that the crayfish would find the axies gills irrisistable.
Regarding crayfish in community- some people have found that if you keep them well fed and watch them very carufully, you may get lucky, but you need to be very careful. Crayfish are nocturnal, so they will shred your fish to peices at night, and by the time you discover what they're doing it will most likely be to late.
I would definetly recomend an individual living all on its own.
