I have two female opaline guorami's and one blue guorami. The one female and the male get along well. But the other female chases both of them around. The aggresive female also always seems to be breathing on the surface of the water and only comes under water for a little while. Besides the one female having a bad tempermant what could other reasons be. The aggresive female doesn't bother any of the other fish however

It is a 29 gallon tank. 6 tiger barbs and a candy stripe pleco

id say you are pushing your luck with 3 gourami's in a 29 gal...bioload and size wise your fine but they are territorial and not alot of room to get away from eachother in that space...maybe return the bully? or you can try to take the bully out for an hour or so and re arrainge the tank deco so she has to reestablish her grounds.....as far as the breathing issue, what are your water parimeters?

I really wouldnt keep more than one gourami every 20 gallons. Girls are mean too.
