is it true that golden gouramis and blue gouramis are the same species just different colors? my gold male and blue female didn't get along.

Yes, the only difference is the color. sizes/diets/scientific names are the same with both of them. Were they both acclimated at the same time? If not then that may be part of the problem... Or it could be something to do with their personalities because it is possible for a certain fish to have a different temperment than they normally should.

yeah it was probably the temperment with that exact fish, because I've had issues like that in the past. Not gouramis though
