Can I put a shrimp in with 5 bloodfins?

Well how big are the bloodfins?

If they have a reputation for being aggresive then no, they won't do

All the fish are about an inch or so in length.

As long as there are hiding places the shrimp should be fine.

Good luck, Mrs. and Mr. Essig.

Thanks!

Do you think one species would be better than another? Suggestions?

Size wise the bamboos, but then there is the chance that the bamboo may hassle the fish... we have a blue mystic platy and a betta in a 10g with a bamboo shrimp and everything is fine, but there is very dense guppy grass in there.

But any of them should be alright.

Sure, that wouldn't be a problem. We had a pair but something happened to one of them and the other has survived just fine for the past 4-5 months being the only one of its type in the tank.
