Phoenix is about 2 years old. He is very friendly and very talkative. I got him about 6 months ago and he has already bonded with my wife and I. I've been working with him and he has grasped the wolf whistle. lol He is very particular about skin for some reason... he will step up onto my hand but sees other people flesh as a threat and tends to take chunks out. lol If I place him on someones shirt or they have a towel on their hand when they stick it in the cage he is just fine... I thought birds were just noise boxes until I spent some time with my uncles Green Wing Macaw and that's when I decided to try it out. Birds are as if not more intelligent then dogs... Its very crazy.. he will dance to music... if I say his name in a high pitch voice and he is on his open perch he will fly through the house until he finds me and land on my shoulder... He's awesome....
Wow! Too cool! lol I've always been a bird fan as well over the years. I don't have any currently but hope to again some day. I'm glad you shared him with us. He's a cutie!

Thanks... He is very cute... you ever have a parrot Ken?
Ace over the years I've had a (sorry for the spelling) Maluccan Cockatoo, cockatiels, finches, parakeets but never actually a parrot. A close friend of mine has an aviary that I enjoy greatly. He has huge Macaws.

The Moluccan Cockatoo is considered a parrot but I hear that they really aren't the kind you want to have as a pet... That must have been an adventure What happen to him They life over 60 years or more...
Ace I was much younger then and irresponsible and moving all the time. I gave her to other family members who in turn ended up giving her away as well. I know she ended up in a good home with lots of love and in an aviary as well. Much more than I could have ever given her at the time. I hated to do it but....

Actually cockatiels and budgies ( parakeets ) are parrots too...lol..and so is my little parrotlet. He is a BIG parrot in a little body and has the attitude to prove it! Beautiful sun conure , and I love the name . My parrotlet also talks. He says 'what did you do' ' whatcha doin' 'birdie birdie birdie' 'baby bird' and 'thank you'. The budgie has picked up saying 'thank you ' from the parrotlet.
Hello Lorabell. I knew you'd find this thread I've seen photos of Lorabells birds...wonderful!
Parollets, never had them but I think they are adorable too. Maybe one of these days I'll be lucky enough to get back into that hobby, but not for now.
The Conur in the OP is so bright and would be wonderful to wake up and see those colors every morning.
Ken
I'm a parrot junkie too!
